研究方向 

  西太平洋深水洋流演化:誰主導着末次冰期冰消期全新世西太平洋深層水?北太平洋深層水vs環南極深層水?

  《莊子.秋水》篇中,北海神若曰“天下之水,莫大于海。萬川歸之,不知何時止而不盈;尾闾洩之,不知何時已而不虛;春秋不變,水旱不知。”然而,大海是否真的一直不變呢?其實從大約3萬年前開始的末次冰期至今,海平面經曆了大幅下降再回升的巨大變化,在最冷的末次盛冰期(距今約2年),海平面比今天約低134m

  在海平面發生變化的時候,海洋深處又發生了怎樣的變化呢?太平洋是地球第一大洋,也是全球重要的碳儲庫之一,太平洋環流對于調節全球氣候變化具有重要意義。現代觀測表明,當今西太平洋深層水的主要來源是環南極深層水,由環南極深層水在北太平洋上翻形成的北太平洋深層水對西太平洋深層水影響較小?西太平洋現代環流格局在冰期時是否會發生變化,又會發生怎樣的變化呢?

  海洋微體生物浮遊有孔蟲在沉積到海底之後,其殼體表面形成鐵錳氧化物覆層,該鐵錳氧化物覆層可以富集底層海水中的稀土元素。從浮遊有孔蟲中提取的海水钕(Nd)同位素信息,可以重建末次冰期以來的西太平洋深水洋流的演化曆史。
